Revolutionizing Dermatology and Healthcare through Advanced Artificial Intelligence: Emerging Trends, Applications, and Future Prospects
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration in dermatology is revolutionising healthcare by improving patient diagnosis accuracy, tailored therapies, and healthcare outcomes. This study examines how AI technologies improve disease management procedures and dermatological diagnostic procedures, particularly for the early detection and categorisation of skin cancer.
Methods: The study review incorporates studies from 2018 to 2024 on the application of AI in dermatology using deep learning algorithms from sources such as IEEE Xplore, PubMed, and Scopus. The study examines how AI affects imaging diagnostic technology, how it might be used in therapeutic interventions, and how it can be used to forecast skin health.
Results: When several AI technologies are used in tandem, dermatological diagnosis has improved thanks to sophisticated image analysis techniques that produce better outcomes for skin cancer detection than conventional approaches. In a variety of diagnostic scenarios, machine learning models outperform dermatologists in terms of diagnostic ability. AI decision support technology improves patient care pathways, treatment regimens, and resource allocation to yield improved healthcare outcomes.
Conclusion: The application of AI in dermatology necessitates ethical solutions for privacy and bias concerns, as well as advances in algorithm transparency and data quality. In order to achieve the best possible integration of AI systems in clinical practice, future research must address existing challenges
